PostgresPURE for PostgreSQL 17 is released

New releases PostgresPURE

PostgresPURE, 100% open source, combines PostgreSQL with a powerful set of software tools to launch and manage your PostgreSQL database environments.

So just before the end of 2024, we have finalised the new releases of PostgresPURE. In addition to new minor versions of PostgresPURE 8 to 11, the new major of PostgresPURE 12 (based on PostgreSQL 17) is now available and PostgresPURE 7 (based on PostgreSQL 12) is phased out.

Unfortunately the PostgreSQL extensions pg_fail_over and pg_store_plans are not available yet for PostgreSQL 17.

Besides upgrading all extensions, which are part of PostgresPURE, we also added the PostgreSQL extension pgvector (version 0.8.0) to PostgresPURE.

Looking at the short term what is on our list to do:

  • Adding the PostgreSQL extensions pg_fail_over and pg_store_plans for PostgreSQL 17.
  • Deciding which “new” extensions we are going to add to PostgresPURE in 2025.

Of course, as can be expected from us, we have tested everything extensively and set it up so that a new version of PostgresPURE can be retrieved and installed easily.

Through our online Splendid Data Helpdesk Center we are available for support 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.
