PostgresPURE, 100% open source, combines community versions of PostgreSQL with a powerful set of open source components to launch and manage your PostgreSQL database environments, and comes with sustainable release management and 24/7 premium support.
What did we do?
Innovation never stops and that’s why PostgresPURE is always in motion. As our customers know, we follow the release schedule of the PostgreSQL community and Splendid Data releases PostgresPURE quarterly.
For us this means that besides the new (minor) releases of PostgreSQL, we also upgrade the other components of PostgresPURE, where needed and useful, and add new components all the time. Of course we extensively test all upgrades and additions within the context of PostgresPURE.
As announced in our previous blog the new component pg_auto_failover has been added. This component is an extension and service for PostgreSQL that monitors and manages automated failover for a Postgres cluster.
Last but not least, we’ve also extended our external wiki with lots of valuable information, including tips and tricks, regarding PostgreSQL and all components.
What can you expect from us?
- November 10, 2022 the community will release PostgreSQL 15.0. For us that will be the starting point preparing the PostgresPURE version for this new major release, and also the new minors of the other PostgresPURE releases.
Normally six (6) weeks after “x.0” is released the community releases “x.1”. Our aim is to release PostgresPURE based on the “x.1” release approx. 2 weeks later.
- It’s important to know that PostgreSQL 10.x will become formally end-of-life per November 10, 2022. This also means that as of the above date, PostgresPURE v5.24 is no longer supported by Splendid Data. If you have any questions about the end-of-life of PostgreSQL 10.x or if you need any help upgrading to a newer version of PostgresPURE, please contact us.
