Cortex 2024.3 is released

Introducing the new release of Cortex and future developments

Just before the end of the year we have released a new version (2024.3) of Cortex. Since the last release, we have seen many new use cases that, as usual, have given us a lot of new inspiration to further improve the capabilities of Cortex.

In a nutshell, what have we done in this new release?

Cortex based on the new major version PostgreSQL 17 (incl. applicable extensions) is now available, and Cortex based on the PostgreSQL versions 13, 14, 15, and 16 (incl. applicable extensions) are upgraded to the latest (minor) versions. Cortex based on the PostgreSQL version 12 is decommissioned.

Looking at the migration of the Oracle Data Objects and the Oracle Code Objects to PostgreSQL we made many improvements. As a result the percentage of automated migration improved, which has a positive impact on accelerating the migration of an Oracle database to PostgreSQL.

Something to be proud of

Cortex is and will remain the best tool to technically migrate Oracle databases to PostgreSQL. Especially when it comes to migrating Oracle code objects to PostgreSQL code objects including all dependencies.

Outlook for the first quarter of 2025

What’s on the agenda for the first quarter of 2025 looking at the development of Cortex? Continuously improve Cortex’s capabilities based on customer use cases and improving the upload of external SQL’s including reporting (like Jira / DevOps and report 6) regarding issues to be solved and time needed.

The benefits of Cortex

Cortex is and will remain the most effective and efficient solution for migrating your Oracle databases to PostgreSQL due to our continuous improvements.

Cortex will save you a lot of time and money, and it’s cheaper than free. No lock-in’s and you can deploy your Oracle to PostgreSQL migrated databases wherever you want.
